Over the past 7 years since giving up smoking and working as a Web Design teacher, I have steadily put on weight.
I also had a baby 11 months ago and put on more weight while pregnant with him. Although I have no heart condition myself, I have a family history of heart disease and want to get fitter.
When I started training with Nic I was flat out doing 4 squats and even a short run was a struggle!
I was the slowest in the Boot Camp group when I started - not that it mattered as it caters for all levels and I always felt part of it.
Now, when I look back over the past weeks, I am amazed at how much I have achieved in a relatively short space of time. I’m the fittest I’ve ever been in my life! I have more energy. I look healthier. I sleep better (apart from the usual baby wake ups!). I’ve lost 12KG so far and all since I had a baby!
I’m not naturally inclined to exercise so this great, healthy feeling is somewhat of a revelation.
The Boot Camp and personal training sessions with Nic kept me motivated to keep going down to the gym. Nic regularly took my measurements which spurred me on because I could see the results in black and white (apart from the clothes getting looser!).
I’m so glad I stopped thinking about it and just did it. If I can do it, anyone can!
