After experiencing a health scare in early 2007, I realised that I needed to make some changes to my health and well being. Fortunately, my employer was sponsoring a 12 week fitness challenge which seemed like the perfect opportunity to embark on my fitness journey.
Our Personal Trainer was Nic. After the first 1 hour training session, we all felt like we were going to die, as we were so unfit. But as each session progressed, (there were 3 every week for 12 weeks), we could see we were progressing and becoming fitter and able to achieve more than we thought we ever could.
I took this chance to really make the most of the challenge, and with Nicís training and guidance I started to lose weight, gain body tone and become healthier and fitter. I found that Nicís professional approach to personal training inspired me, along with the others I trained with, to push myself past the barrier where I thought I had to stop. It is only when you pass this point that you realise that you can do it and achieve the goal you set yourself.
My goal was to lose at least 12 kgs and after time stop taking tablets for treatment of high cholesterol, which I have been taking for 8 years. After 12 weeks I had lost over 14 kgs, taken almost 20 cms off my waist and reduced my body fat content by over 10 %. My doctor has also advised me that I currently do not need to take the medication for cholesterol.
As I continue to be trained by Nic, I am still learning much about techniques for improving fitness, body building and toning. As a result, this has helped me to become a better person both physically and mentally. Becoming involved with Nic has turned my life around and improved my lifestyle. What I have learnt from Nic ís guidance will continue to help maintain the changes I have made to my life.
